BCCC organizes the seminar "Brazil: opportunities for the World Cup, Olympic Games and Beyond" on June 20th
The Brazil-Canada Chamber of Commerce - BCCC together with the Ontario Ministry of Economic Development and Trade, are pleased to announce that they will be hosting the 5th edition of their annual "Doing Business with Brazil" series on Monday, June 20th, 2011 from 8:30 AM to 12:00 PM.
The central theme of this breakfast seminar will be "Brazil: opportunities for the World Cup,
Olympic Games and Beyond". The Senior Vice President of Brookfield Asset Management &
Chairman of Brazil Canada Chamber of Commerce, Eric Bonnor, will deliver the welcome
greetings and the EDC Chief Representative South America, Lissa Bjerkelund, will introduce the
opening remarks. The event will consist of five presentations: "Business Opportunities in the
State of Rio de Janeiro: Incentives, World Cup, Olympics and Beyond" by Luiz Carlos
Tavares de Carvalho, Chief Advisor for Foreign Trade and Investments Undersecretariat for
International Relations, Executive Office of the Governor, Government of the State of Rio de
Janeiro; "Brazil: Opportunities for Ontario Companies and How to Access Them" by Marcos
José de Almeida Duarte, In-Market Coordinator, Ontario Ministry of Economic Development and Trade (MEDT) - Brazilian Trade Office; "Investment In Brazil - Understanding The Brazilian
Tax Considerations" by Leandro Reis, Senior Manager Business Tax, Deloitte & Touche LLP;
"Reality Check - an Ontario Company's Experience" by Reece Bailey, Project Director
Americas, Halcrow Consulting Inc; and a final presentation by Marcio Mello Silva Baptista, from Tozzini Freire Advogados, before Maureen Angus, Area Director South America, Ontario Ministry of Economic Development and Trade, delivers the closing remarks.
