SonicWall alerta sobre novo Android Adware

São Paulo, SP--(DINO - 24 jan, 2019) - A Sonicwall, empresa de segurança da informação que protege mais de 1 milhão de redes em todo o mundo, anuncia a detecção de um novo Android Adware que bombardeia o dispositivo infectado com um grande fluxo de propagandas. Essa descoberta foi possível graças à inteligência da tecnologia RTDMI (Real Time Deep Memory Inspection, inspeção profunda de memória, feita em tempo real), uma solução de segurança da SonicWall que identifica e bloqueia ataques contra chips e processadores. Essa é a primeira vez que o malware Android Adware é detectado. A descoberta foi anunciada pelos profissionais do SonicWall Security Center dia 16 de janeiro. Veja abaixo mais detalhes sobre como esse novo malware é disseminado e os problemas que ele causa: SonicWall RTDMI engine recently detected an Android Adware which has an app icon that looks similar to the Settings app icon. The non-existence of this malicious file at the time of detection on popular malware search portals like the VirusTotal and the Reversing Labs indicates the effectiveness of the RTDMI engine.When a user clicks on the app icon, it starts its execution in the background and hides itself from the app list.It then connects to a malicious URL, sends victim's device information and saves the response data into a file named 'Config'.The response data from the server is in JSON format which contains events to identify the victim's device's Internet connectivity type (WiFi, Mobile Data).Depending on the victim's connectivity type, a malicious URL is opened and the victim is flooded with random ads.
